Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has won the Turkish Super Lig Goal of The Month award for the month of September.
Onuachu has enjoyed a remarkable return to Turkish football this season. Recall that he played for Trabzonspor, on loan from Southampton two seasons ago. But at the end of the deal, he returned to England.
However, after many speculations, both clubs agreed on the permanent sale of the 31-year-old striker.
Since his permanent transfer, the Super Eagles striker has contributed seven goals and one assist in ten games for the Black Sea Storm. And some of them have been bangers.
Recall that earlier, Soccernet.ng reported that Onuachu’s goal against Samsunspor in August was named the Goal of the Month.
Then, in late September, the former Genk man scored another spectacular goal. Despite his big frame, he managed to contort his body to score a beautiful scissors kick goal against Faith Karagumruk.
Now, that goal has been named the best goal in the Super Lig for the month of September.
Onuachu was presented with his award by the Vice President of Trabzonspor, Taner Fikret Saral verdi, before their game against Eyupspor on Saturday night.
Paul Onuachu Leading The Scorers’ League in Turkey
With his seven goals, Paul Onuachu still leads the goalscorers’ chart in the Turkish Super Lig. But he has Rafa Silva, Felipe Augusto, and Mauro Icardi on five.
Super Eagles marksman Victor Osimhen has just two goals in the league this season, albeit he hasn’t played a lot due to injuries and fitness issues.
Onuachu will be looking to continue banging goals for Trabzonspor and help them mount a solid challenge for the league title.
