Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has welcomed the High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana, H.E. Philda Nani Kereng, during an official meeting in Abuja.
The minister shared moments from the diplomatic visit on her Instagram page, @biancaodumegwuojukwu, where she revealed that discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and Botswana.
According to Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, both countries reviewed opportunities for stronger political and economic cooperation, especially through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
She stated that the meeting also explored partnerships in fintech, agriculture, technology, mining, and trade missions between both nations.
The minister further disclosed that collaboration within the creative industry was discussed, noting Botswana’s interest in Nollywood and Nigeria’s entertainment sector.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu added that more than 7,000 Nigerians currently reside in Botswana and continue to contribute to sectors including education, healthcare, engineering, and business.
Photos from the meeting showed the minister exchanging gifts and sharing warm moments with the Botswana High Commissioner during the official visit.
