According to a statement on X on Monday, June 1, 2026, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Vice Presidential Candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has distanced himself from a social media message alleging that he is planning a protest over the worsening security situation in the country.
According to the former governor, the circulating claim does not reflect his position or that of his political associates, stressing that he remains committed to lawful and democratic means of addressing national issues.
“Our attention has been drawn to a message currently circulating on social media falsely claiming that we are planning a protest over the rising insecurity in the country,” the statement read.
Kwankwaso said neither he nor his political movement supports actions that could undermine public order or result in violence, property destruction or loss of life.
“We do not support any action that could lead to the breakdown of public order or the destruction of lives and property. As responsible leaders, we remain committed to peaceful and constructive approaches in addressing national challenges,” he stated.
The former governor further reaffirmed his confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process, maintaining that elections remain the most appropriate avenue through which citizens can express dissatisfaction and pursue political change.
“As committed democrats, we firmly believe that the ballot box remains the most legitimate and effective way to express grievances and seek change,” he said.
Kwankwaso also expressed confidence in the electoral prospects of the National Democratic Congress, stating that the party intends to pursue its political objectives through peaceful democratic participation. “Our party, the NDC, is confident of securing a resounding victory in the upcoming elections through peaceful democratic means,” the statement added.
He subsequently advised Nigerians to ignore the viral message and be cautious of misinformation circulating online. “The general public is therefore advised to disregard the false message and ignore those peddling such disinformation,” he stated.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
