Attention PHOENIX Readers: The Complete Article Is Available via “Read Original” From The Up. According to a report by The Cable on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed the chances of a proposed presidential ticket involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), insisting that such an alliance would fail to gain the support of voters in Kano State during the 2027 general election.
Ganduje made the remarks while speaking with journalists on Tuesday, maintaining that the political combination lacks the influence, credibility and governance record necessary to secure victory in one of Nigeria’s most politically significant states.
The former Kano State governor stated that although political alliances are common ahead of elections, the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso ticket would not resonate with the electorate in Kano.
According to him, the political standing of both leaders falls short of what is required to convince voters in the state to support their presidential ambition.Achieve Your Desires. He argued that Kano remains a politically strategic state where candidates are closely evaluated based on their previous performances in public office and their overall political strength.
Ganduje also questioned the credentials of Peter Obi, particularly his performance during his tenure as governor of Anambra State.
He argued that Obi’s period in office did not provide sufficient evidence of the leadership experience needed to govern Nigeria at the highest level.
According to the former APC national chairman, leading a country as complex and diverse as Nigeria requires a track record that demonstrates the ability to manage national challenges effectively, adding that Obi’s record as governor does not meet that expectation.
While assessing the proposed presidential pairing, Ganduje maintained that Obi’s governance record would not inspire confidence among voters in Kano.
He stressed that the state’s electorate has consistently considered experience, political influence and previous achievements when deciding whom to support during elections.
He insisted that the proposed ticket lacks the qualities required to attract widespread backing in the state and suggested that the alliance would struggle to make any meaningful electoral impact in Kano during the 2027 presidential contest.
The former APC chairman also turned his attention to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, criticising the former Kano governor’s political history in the state.
Ganduje pointed out that Kwankwaso was unable to secure consecutive terms as governor of Kano, arguing that this reflected limitations in his political record.
He suggested that such a history weakens Kwankwaso’s credentials as a presidential candidate and further undermines the prospects of any joint ticket involving him and Peter Obi under the Nigeria Democratic Congress ahead of the next general election.
He said, “Kwankwaso too, he was a governor of Kano state. He was not able to be a governor back-to-back.”
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
