According to a report by Daily Post, on Tuesday July 21, 2026, Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has questioned the Federal Government’s decision to allocate more than N8 billion to church and mosque-related projects in the 2026 budget.
The former Vice President expressed concern over reports that about N8.05 billion was set aside for religious projects despite the country’s economic challenges, he argued that the funds could have been directed toward addressing pressing national issues such as poverty, infrastructure deficits, healthcare, and education.
In a statement released on Tuesday through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of using religion as a shield for spending that lacks sufficient public scrutiny.Achieve Your Desires. According to him, findings by civic accountability group Tracka showed that approximately N1.91 billion was allocated to church-related projects, while about N6.14 billion was earmarked for mosque-related initiatives in the 2026 Appropriation Bill.
Atiku stated that the lack of detailed information about many of the proposed beneficiaries raised serious questions about transparency and accountability, he noted that the identities of several churches and mosques expected to benefit from the allocations were not clearly stated in the budget documents.
The ADC presidential candidate maintained that the government has a responsibility to provide Nigerians with full details of the projects, he called on authorities to publish the names of all beneficiary institutions, the locations of the projects, the agencies responsible for implementation, and the legal basis for the allocations.
“The Tinubu administration has crossed the moral red line. God is not a laundering machine for public funds. The Tinubu administration has no moral or legal licence to hide behind the altar, the minbar, or the sacred robes of our priests and imams to mask questionable appropriations,” Atiku said.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
