Senator Francis Fadahunsi on Monday secured the All Progressives Congress senate ticket to re-contest while the Chairman of Mutual Benefit Assurance, Akin Ogunbiyi clinched that of Osun West Senatorial District.
Fadahunsi who defected from Peoples Democratic Party to APC representing Osun East beat his closest rival, Thomas Ogungbamigbe and Ajibola Famurewa to get the ticket of the party in a result collated at APC secretariat, Ilesa on Monday evening.
Also, Ogunbiyi who had been presented as consensus senate candidate of Osun West Senatorial district by district APC chairman, Omolaoye Akintola defeated other aspirants namely; Dotun Babayemi; Bade Falade; Peter Ogundeji; Gafar Amere; Bashir Adewinbi; Surajudeen A. Salawu; Adeniran; Mojeed Oluogun; and Adebayo Oladosu.
The party’s leadership in the district led by Omolaoye made the announcement in Iwo, the district headquarters on Monday night.
Meanwhile, result collation is underway in Osun Central as the incumbent senator Olubiyi Fadeyi and a lawyer, Kunle Adegoke are in close competition as at the time of filing this report.
