A former Minister for Youth and Sport Development and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has disclosed details surrounding a recent opposition gathering, highlighting what he described as growing unity and readiness among opposition parties ahead of future political contests.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, May 1, 2026, the ADC chieftain recounted how the opposition summit held in Ibadan was organised within a short period.

“If you look at the opposition party summit in Ibadan, which was organised barely within four days, because when the idea came up that look, the opposition parties has not given Tinubu the deserved vaccine. He needed at this point in time because he has done the same to his predecessors in office. So we immediately sent information around and there were meetings of leaders of the political party across board and within just four days we were in Ibadan,” he said.

He further explained that the turnout at the event exceeded expectations, noting that the number of attendees went beyond the initial plan set by the organisers. “And we were expecting five delegates from each political party but we ended up with a mammoth crowd which even overwhelmed the capacity of the organisers. We had to deal with that,” he added.

According to him, the level of enthusiasm displayed at the summit reflects a broader commitment among opposition groups to the democratic process. “Now if you look at how enthusiastic the opposition is and their commitment, you will know that the opposition is ready to ensure that democracy survives,” he stated.

The ADC chieftain also addressed discussions held during the gathering regarding a unified political strategy, particularly the decision to present a single candidate in opposition to Bola Tinubu.

“What even amazes me most is a decision by the opposition to field a single candidate against Bola Tinubu. That decision was debated and almost all the frontline aspirants were there and none of them contested the decision except everybody who came up will affirm his commitment that look, this struggle is about Nigeria, not about individual interests. So we are prepared for a fight,” he said.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
