Following the offensive missile and drone strike of the Iranian regime on Israel, and regional countries from the Middle East in response to Israel and the US strikes on Iran as President Donald Trump announces ‘major combat operations in Iran despite the ongoing indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran in an effort to ensure that Iran did not obtained a nuclear weapon, Arab Foreign Ministers demanded that Iran pay full compensation for damage resulting from what they described as Iranian attacks on Arab nations and the closure of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
According to a report made by Anadolu English on Wednesday, 22 April, 2026, Arab Foreign Ministers comprising of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq as victims of Iranian attacks in a resolution, passed during an emergency Arab League meeting Chaired by Bahrain, accused the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran of bearing full international responsibility for targeting multiple regional States,and disrupting global navigation.
They also asserted that under international law, Iran is obliged to provide full reparation for all resulting losses and damages, condemning Tehran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its threats to shut the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, calling such actions a violation of international law and the principle of freedom of navigation.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al Zayani said the actions of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei had disrupted maritime traffic, threatened energy security, and harmed food and medicine supplies.
He also said “These measures have damaged global trade and the world economy,” insisting that Tehran must be held accountable for the consequences of closing the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping.
It was gathered that the resolution passed by Arab Foreign Ministers came just weeks after the Iranian itself demanded compensation from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Jordan, claiming those countries had participated in the war against Tehran.
