As the Middle East teeters on the brink of a wider conflagration following weeks of reciprocal military strikes, Pope Leo XIV delivered an impassioned anti-war declaration, warning that escalating global conflicts—particularly involving the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Israeli regime, and the United States are exacting an unbearable toll on innocent civilians, including countless children.
According to a report made by Anadolu English on Friday, 24 April, 2026, Pope Leo XIV while speaking to journalists aboard the papal flight after returning from a four-nation tour of Africa, urged world leaders to abandon rhetoric rooted in hatred and division, calling instead for a culture of peace to guide diplomatic efforts.
He also said “As a pastor, I cannot be in favor of war. And I would like to encourage everyone to make efforts to seek answers that come from a culture of peace, not hatred and division, reflecting growing frustration within the Holy See over the international community’s inability to halt the bloodshed.
The Pontiff also specifically addressed the complex and rapidly shifting situation in Iran, where joint US-Israeli offensives have thrown the country’s political future into doubt, cautioning against simplistic discussions about regime change, arguing that such debates miss the more urgent moral crisis at hand, at the same time saying “The issue is not whether there is regime change or not; the issue is how to promote the values we believe in without the death of so many innocent people.”
Pope Leo went further to paint a stark picture of diplomatic chaos, describing negotiations as erratic and unpredictable, saying “Even the negotiations themselves—one day Iran says yes and the United States says no, and vice versa—and we do not know where things are heading.”
He also warned that such prolonged uncertainty is not only costing lives but also weighing heavily on the global economy, as markets react nervously to each new escalation or fragile truce.
The Pope also urged both the American Government, and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately prioritize dialogue and respect for international law, calling for renewed efforts to de-escalate hostilities.
He also emphasized that civilians should never be bargaining chips in geopolitical power struggles.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
