According to a report by the Cable, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has called for an independent and transparent investigation into the alleged unauthorized release of the voter registration details of Nollywood actor Emeka Ike.

The controversy emerged after Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, shared screenshots on X showing details of Ike’s voter registration transfer from Imo State to the Federal Capital Territory.
The information was posted amid discussions surrounding the actor’s eligibility to contest a House of Representatives seat in Abuja following his participation in recent political activities.
Atiku expressed concern over the source of the information and the implications of its public disclosure.
