Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Nigeria, H.E. Bambang Suharto, during an official courtesy visit in Abuja.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu shared photos from the meeting on her Instagram page, @biancaodumegwuojukwu, where she revealed that the Indonesian envoy delivered a congratulatory message from Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, H.E. Sugiono, following her assumption of office.
According to the minister, Nigeria and Indonesia have enjoyed longstanding diplomatic relations for several decades, with both countries maintaining strong economic and political cooperation.
She disclosed that trade between Nigeria and Indonesia was valued at about $5 billion in 2024, making Nigeria one of Indonesia’s major trading partners in Africa.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu further noted that more than 15 Indonesian companies currently operate in Nigeria, including Indofoods, Indorama, Wings Group, and Kalbe Farma Pharmaceuticals.
The minister added that both parties discussed investment opportunities in agriculture, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and technical cooperation.
Photos from the visit showed the minister and the Indonesian ambassador exchanging documents and holding diplomatic discussions during the official meeting.
