Zakari Mohammed, the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate for Kwara State, has challenged the federal government’s perspective on the state of national security. The politician expressed concern over statements downplaying the severity of recent attacks, noting that officials often seem completely disconnected from the daily dangers faced by ordinary Nigerians commuting across regional highways.
According to a video posted on the Official YouTube channel of Arise News on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, while dismissing optimistic security assessments from presidential spokesperson Daniel Bwala during his live interview, he stated, “he should try to travel by road from Abuja to Kwara, and then he can come back so we can have a debate, especially if you are talking about security.”
The former federal lawmaker insisted that evaluating national safety requires experiencing the actual state of regional transport routes firsthand. He noted that relying solely on official briefings from secured locations creates a false sense of safety that contradicts the terrifying realities confronting motorists who face constant threats of ambush and abduction on major roads.
Mohammed further lamented that the lack of realistic security measures has forced many stakeholders to completely abandon essential economic activities like agriculture. He pointed out that until government officials leave their heavily fortified enclosures and experience the unsecured highways themselves, policy interventions will continue to fail the citizens who need immediate protection.
In his concluding remarks, the governorship hopeful urged policy makers to acknowledge the brazen nature of current security challenges. He called for urgent transparency and a total shift toward practical, ground-level assessments, emphasizing that any meaningful debate on national safety must align with the lived experiences of vulnerable Nigerians traveling across the country.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
