According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, 3 June,2026, former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has predicted that Arsenal will not defend their Premier League title next season.
The former United player, was speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast, said the Gunners could finish in fourth position next season.
The Englishman however, tipped Manchester United and Liverpool to challenge for the Premier League title.
“I think Manchester United will have a chance under Michael (Carrick), if they do some good business,” Scholes said.
“Liverpool, I expect them to go. Manchester City have a good time, but they will have a new manager.
Scholes added, people are expecting Arsenal to dominate, but it might not be possible for the North London side to defend the title.
Arsenal may likely finish in either third or fourth position in the Premier League table.
The Gunners were crowned English Champions this season, after they finish at the summit of the Premier League table with 86 points.
The North London finish the season without a red card and they never conceded a penalty 38 Premier League games this season, they won 26 Premier League games, drawing 7 games and lost 5 in all.
Their excellent record led them to UEFA Champions League final unbeaten, as they lost to the reigning European Champions Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.
However, with this excellent record, Paul Scholes doesn’t believes Arsenal are not favourites to win the Premier League title next season, rather he tipped Manchester United and Liverpool.
