Emmanuel Godson Odiniya, father of Ilebaye Odiniya, has spoken about the challenges in his relationship with his daughter following reports of an alleged assault involving the two.
In a video shared by Punch, Odiniya said he strongly supported Ilebaye during her time on Big Brother Naija and used his connections to help gather votes for her. According to him, many people, including some of his associates and public figures, also supported her financially and morally during the competition.
He explained that after she won the reality show, her attitude allegedly changed and she stopped listening to advice from family members. He claimed that disagreements often happened between Ilebaye and her mother, and he usually stepped in to settle them.
Odiniya also alleged that his daughter began associating with people he did not approve of and ignored his advice about managing her money and appreciating those who supported her career. He further claimed that she spent money carelessly and sometimes insulted him whenever he tried to correct her.
Speaking about her appearance, Odiniya said Ilebaye allegedly underwent cosmetic procedures on her face and body, including a BBL, despite his objections. He claimed that each time he complained about the surgeries, it led to more arguments in the family.
He ended by asking Nigerians to pray for peace in his home and for his daughter to change her behaviour.
In his words, “My daughter, a child of 24 to 25, she would go for surgery to beautify her face and her bum bum, each time I complain about this, it becomes a problem.”
