According to a report published by Punch on Monday, May 11, 2026, Emmanuel Odiniya, the father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars champion Ilebaye Odiniya, has claimed that disagreements over his daughter’s lifestyle and personal choices played a major role in the family conflict that recently gained attention online.
In an audio message that has been widely shared on social media, Emmanuel alleged that he had consistently cautioned his daughter against cosmetic enhancement procedures. He explained that his concerns stemmed from the changes he noticed after her rise to fame following the reality television competition. According to him, he felt obligated as a parent to advise and guide her despite the growing misunderstandings between them.
While addressing the matter, Emmanuel stated that he had discouraged her from undergoing cosmetic procedures such as facial fillers and Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, stressing that he believed she was still too young for such decisions.
He further claimed that their relationship, which was once very close, gradually became strained after her success on the show. Emmanuel alleged that communication between them became increasingly difficult, adding that repeated disagreements and misunderstandings created emotional distance within the family despite his attempts to stay actively involved in her life and career.
Public attention surrounding the dispute intensified after videos and reports circulated online alleging that several family members, including Ilebaye and her father, suffered injuries during a confrontation at their residence in Abuja.
Authorities in the Federal Capital Territory later confirmed that an investigation into the incident had commenced and that those affected were receiving medical attention. The development sparked widespread reactions online, with many supporters expressing concern and urging the family to resolve their differences peacefully.
Despite the controversy and allegations, Emmanuel insisted that he still loves and cares deeply for his daughter and remains hopeful that reconciliation will eventually happen.
