Natasha Rejects ₦1bn Judgment, Heads to Appeal Court

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has rejected a ₦1 billion defamation judgment awarded to former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello by the Kogi State High Court. The court held that her statements during a 2022 television interview were defamatory, ruling that they harmed Bello’s reputation and were not supported by sufficient evidence, while also issuing an injunction barring her from making further such remarks.

In response, the senator argued that her comments were made in good faith and in the public interest, insisting the court failed to properly assess her evidence. She maintained that her statements were a reaction to earlier accusations and confirmed that she will challenge the verdict at the Court of Appeal, stating her resolve to pursue justice through legal means.

Jonathan’s legacy rooted in experience, results — Yuguda replies Atiku

Former Minister and diplomat Bashir Yuguda has defended the record of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, rejecting claims by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that his administration was marked by inexperience. Yuguda described the assertion as inaccurate, highlighting Jonathan’s extensive political journey through key offices and stressing that his leadership was shaped by experience and deliberate policy decisions.

He pointed to achievements such as Nigeria’s emergence as Africa’s largest economy, agricultural reforms, infrastructure revival, and improved global standing, alongside Jonathan’s commitment to democratic values. Yuguda emphasised that the former president’s decision to concede defeat in the 2015 election strengthened Nigeria’s democracy, urging Nigerians to assess past leadership based on verifiable records rather than what he called misleading narratives.

Iran executes man over ‘mission’ for Israel’s spy agency

Iran has executed a man, identified as Erfan Kiani, for allegedly carrying out a mission on behalf of Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, during protests in January. Authorities said he was involved in violent activities, including arson, destruction of property, and attacks on security personnel, with his death sentence upheld by the Supreme Court before his execution.

The execution is part of a broader crackdown, as Iran has intensified the use of the death penalty amid its conflict with Israel and the United States. Officials claim the unrest was instigated by foreign actors and opposition groups, noting that several individuals have been executed in recent weeks over protest-related charges, reinforcing Iran’s position as one of the world’s leading users of capital punishment.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
