According to a report by the Punch on Monday, May 11, 2026, Emmanuel Odiniya, father of former Ilebaye Odiniya, has continued to speak out over the viral family altercation involving his daughter, alleging that there had been previous incidents of physical confrontation between them before the recent dispute at their Abuja residence.
In a voice note circulating online, Emmanuel claimed that tensions within the family had been building for some time, accusing the reality TV star of becoming increasingly aggressive during disagreements. He alleged that one particular incident left him injured after an argument escalated beyond control.
Recalling the encounter, Emmanuel said, “One day she took an AC hanger and hit me with it till blood started gushing out of my body.”
He further claimed that despite the incident, he chose not to retaliate because she remained his daughter and he still cared deeply about her wellbeing. According to him, the situation became more painful because he had previously supported her throughout her journey on the reality television show and celebrated her success after emerging as the winner.
The controversy attracted widespread reactions online after emotional videos linked to the family disagreement surfaced on social media, prompting concern among fans and followers of the former reality TV star. Reports later indicated that several members of the family sustained injuries during the confrontation and were receiving treatment.
Authorities in the Federal Capital Territory confirmed that investigations into the incident were ongoing, while police also disclosed that those involved had been placed under protective supervision as efforts continued to resolve the matter peacefully.
Despite the allegations and public attention surrounding the dispute, Emmanuel maintained that he still wanted reconciliation and hoped the family could eventually settle their differences privately.
