Prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has stirred fresh political debate following comments he made regarding the abduction of students in Oyo State, suggesting that the incident was connected to efforts aimed at undermining President Bola Tinubu’s political standing.

Igbokwe made the remarks in a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday, May 30, 2026, where he reflected on the kidnapping incident and its broader political implications.

His comments have since generated discussion among political observers and social media users, particularly because of the connection he drew between the security challenge and the country’s political environment.

The student abduction, which attracted widespread public attention when it occurred, sparked numerous reactions from Nigerians across political and social divides.
