According to a report by Punch Newspaper on Thursday, May 28, 2026, Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, has reacted to controversies surrounding the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections, warning that unresolved disputes over the exercise could deepen tensions within the ruling party.
Tinubu-Ojo expressed dissatisfaction over the outcome of some of the primaries and called on both state and national leaders of the APC to carefully investigate complaints before the final ratification of the results.
She argued that several candidates believed to have legitimately won their contests should not be denied their mandates, stressing that party members and supporters were already becoming aggrieved over the situation
Tinubu-Ojo specifically mentioned Hon. Seye Oladejo of Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo of Agege Constituency 2, and Olotu Ojo of Ojokoro Constituency as individuals she believed emerged victorious in their respective contests.
According to her, supporters of the affected candidates were prepared to stage protests if the party failed to address their concerns and ensure fairness in the handling of the disputed primaries.
“We are ready to protest because of Seye Oladejo of Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo of Agege Constituency 2, and Olotu Ojo of Ojokoro Constituency, because we know they won this election. Their mandate should not be given to somebody else,” Tinubu-Ojo said.
Tinubu-Ojo warned that failure to address grievances arising from the primaries could weaken internal unity within the APC and create unnecessary divisions among party loyalists.She urged party leaders to act swiftly in resolving the disputes in order to restore confidence among members and prevent further escalation of tensions within the ruling party.
