According to a report by Punch on Friday, April 24, 2026, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State, Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has thrown his support behind the re-election bid of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, urging voters in Kogi Central to return her to the Senate in 2027.
Gambo made the appeal during a political engagement in Lokoja on Friday while receiving a delegation of party members.
He described the senator as one of the most influential lawmakers the state has produced since the return to democratic rule in 1999.
He noted that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has distinguished herself in the National Assembly through active representation and developmental initiatives that have brought attention to Kogi Central at the national level.
He added that her style of leadership has strengthened her acceptance within and outside the party.
According to him, her performance in her first term has set a strong foundation for continued impact, arguing that allowing her another term would help consolidate ongoing projects and expand developmental reach across her constituency.
The PDP chairman also highlighted various empowerment initiatives attributed to the senator, including support for women, youths, and small business owners.
He pointed to the distribution of learning materials, equipment, and other forms of assistance as part of her constituency outreach efforts.
He further stated that infrastructure projects such as road rehabilitation, school improvements, and market upgrades have contributed to her growing popularity across Kogi Central.
Gambo described the senator as a unifying figure within the party structure in the state, noting that her leadership has helped strengthen internal cohesion.
He called on party members to remain united in support of her second-term ambition, stressing that continuity in representation would enhance development and ensure sustained progress for the district.
