Coup Suspect Arrives Court Ahead of Arraignment
One of the suspects in the alleged coup plot, Abdulkadir Sani, arrived early at the Federal High Court in Abuja ahead of his arraignment, while five other defendants were yet to appear as proceedings were set to begin. He was reportedly the only defendant not in custody.
The Federal Government had filed a 13-count charge against the accused, including terrorism and conspiracy to overthrow the government. Others listed include Mohammed Ibrahim Gana, Erasmus Ochegobia Victor, Ahmed Ibrahim, Zekeri Umoru, Bukar Kashim Goni, and Timipre Sylva, who is said to be at large. Proceedings had not commenced as security was tightened around the court.

Supreme Court reserves decision in PDP’s appeals against judgment voiding Ibadan convention
The Supreme Court of Nigeria reserved judgment in appeals filed by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party challenging rulings that voided its Ibadan national convention. The panel, led by Mohammed Garba, said the judgment date would be communicated after parties adopted their briefs.
The appeals sought to overturn earlier decisions affirming that the party could not proceed with the convention without including Sule Lamido and restraining Independent National Electoral Commission from monitoring the exercise. The court also heard cross-appeals, with a final ruling now pending.
