According to a report by Daily Post, on Thursday April 23, 2026, spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Habibu Saleh, has stated that internal political divisions within the ruling structure in Kano State could strengthen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Saleh made the comment during an interview, where he also assessed the current political situation in the state, he said the existing arrangement in Kano is not properly managed and lacks coordination among key actors in the ruling party and government.
According to him, the absence of clear alignment within the political structure may create an advantage for Kwankwaso and his supporters as they prepare for future elections.
Saleh, however, stressed that Kwankwaso’s attention is not on taking advantage of political weakness in any group, he said the former governor remains focused on building a strong coalition that can challenge the current federal government in 2027.
He explained that Kwankwaso’s interest is centered on national progress rather than personal ambition, he said the priority is to remove the current administration and offer Nigerians what he described as a better political alternative.
Saleh added that Kwankwaso is willing to play any role that will help achieve that goal, he said the main objective is success at the polls and improved governance for the country.
He addressed perceptions about Kwankwaso’s political strength, saying some people may not fully understand his political journey, according to him, Kwankwaso’s influence has developed over many years through consistent political engagement.
“The current political arrangement in Kano is not well managed, and even within the APC and the government, there is no proper alignment. What matters is removing this government and giving Nigerians a better alternative. My principal is ready to play any role that will make that happen,” he said.
