In a recent video on Facebook on Sunday, May 10th 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued strong political remarks concerning Nigerian and regional politics, warning several politicians about future electoral struggles and criticizing campaign practices across the country.
In his message, Ayodele specifically addressed former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, predicting significant political resistance to his governorship ambition and suggesting that he may face sustained challenges within his political environment.
“Malami, they will put more crisis on you so you will not become governor of your state. You will struggle. They will do everything to embarrass you,” he said.
The cleric also commented on broader political alignments, suggesting possible shifts involving the ruling structure and opposition groups, while questioning the effectiveness of some political alliances.
“The present government will align with NDC. NDC is going nowhere. NDC is going nowhere,” Ayodele stated.
He extended his criticism to prominent Nigerian opposition figures, including Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, dismissing their political prospects and suggesting that their ambitions may not translate into electoral success.
“Peter Obi is going nowhere. Kwankwaso is going nowhere. They are just wasting their time,” he said.
Ayodele further questioned the nature of political campaigning in Nigeria, criticizing the reliance on material inducements such as cash distribution and food items during election periods.
“If you are a good politician, why beg people to vote for you again? Why give people rice? Why give people money?” he asked.
He argued that effective governance should naturally earn public support without the need for aggressive campaigning or voter inducement, emphasizing that performance should be the primary driver of re-election.
“If you do well, people will naturally call you for a second term. You can even do ten terms,” Ayodele added.
Ayodele, known for his controversial political predictions and commentary, frequently speaks on leadership outcomes across Nigeria and other African countries, often blending criticism of governance with warnings about political instability.
