According to a report by The Times Of Israel on May 18, 2026, the US President told The New York Post that “Iran knows what’s going to be happening soon”, expressing disappointment at Iran’s latest response to the United States on ending the war.
The president made the remarks while discussing the persistent animosity between the US and Iran. Without specifying what steps he meant, he implied that Iran knew where things could go.
The New York Post also asked him about his Friday comments, in which he seemed willing to consider a nuclear freeze on Iran for 20 years. Not wanting to go into additional detail, the president rejected that stance.
His response, “I’m not open to anything right now,” implied that he was moving away from proposing a long-term solution to the problem. Amidst ongoing tensions over Iran’s nuclear activities, his words demonstrated a more assertive tone.
