According to a report by Fox News, on Tuesday May 19, 2026, the United States has extended a final diplomatic lifeline to Iran, despite profound frustration over the regime’s volatile negotiating tactics and ongoing regional aggression.
Reporting on the escalating tensions in the Middle East, Fox News host Jesse Watters highlighted the administration’s skepticism toward Tehran’s commitment to a legitimate peaceful resolution.
According to Watters, the White House recently rejected a late-night Iranian proposal that offered only minor, token improvements over previous submissions.
Compounding the diplomatic friction, the President recently criticized the deceptive nature of Iran’s diplomatic engagement in an interview.
“The president told Fortune, quote, ‘They scream all the time. I can tell you one thing: they’re dying to sign a deal. But they make a deal and then they will send you a paper that has no relationship to the deal you made. I say, “Are you people crazy?” Watters shared.
Despite what the administration views as erratic behavior from Tehran, U.S. leadership has opted to briefly pause military action to allow regional allies space to broker a verifiable agreement.
“Now, despite that, the president’s giving them one last chance to have a come-to-Allah moment,” Watters reported.
