According to an Anadolu English report of Monday 20 of April 2026, Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has said that all rational and diplomatic avenues should be pursued to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington, while emphasizing the need for continued caution in dealing with the United States (US).
He stated that dialogue and diplomacy remain important tools for managing differences between the two countries and preventing further escalation of tensions that have persisted over several years.
At the same time, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran must remain cautious in its approach, pointing to longstanding mistrust in relations with Washington.
He described vigilance and skepticism in interactions with the US as an “undeniable necessity,” according to IRNA.
The remarks come at a time when relations between Iran and the US remain strained over issues including sanctions, regional security concerns and disagreements over international agreements.
Iranian officials have repeatedly maintained that engagement is possible if it is based on mutual respect and consideration of Iran’s national interests.
Pezeshkian’s comments reflect an effort by the new administration to present a measured diplomatic tone while still acknowledging unresolved political tensions.
No direct reference was made to any upcoming negotiations or formal talks between the two sides.
The statement also highlights the balancing approach adopted by Iran’s leadership, which seeks to combine openness to dialogue with caution shaped by past experiences in bilateral relations.
IRNA reported that the president stressed the importance of using diplomacy to manage disputes, while ensuring that Iran’s strategic interests are protected in all engagements with foreign counterparts.
Observers note that the comments may be intended to signal flexibility without indicating a shift in core policy positions.
Iran and the US have had limited direct engagement in recent years, with communication often taking place indirectly through intermediaries.
The latest remarks add to ongoing discussions about whether diplomatic channels could be expanded in the future to reduce tensions and address long-standing disputes between the two countries.
The statement comes amid broader diplomatic activity in the Middle East.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
