U.S. President Donald Trump said Washington would be satisfied if Iran agrees to permanently abandon any ambition to develop nuclear weapons, suggesting possible progress in sensitive Middle East negotiations.

In an interview aired by DRM News, Trump emphasized that Iran’s military capabilities and leadership structure had been severely weakened, while maintaining that significant progress was being made on the nuclear issue.

“We’ve totally destroyed their military. We’ve destroyed their leadership, as you know. Their leaders are gone. Their leaders are gone at the first level, the second level. We’re dealing with half of the third level. And I think we’ve made a lot of progress.”

The remarks come at a time of ongoing diplomatic engagement between the United States and regional partners aimed at reducing tensions over Iran’s nuclear program. Washington has consistently maintained that its main objective is to ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons, while keeping both diplomatic and military options available if talks fail to produce results.
