A 30-year-old man identified as Smart Ngondo has tragically taken his own life in Mzimba District after reportedly finding his wife bathing naked with other people at a local stream.
Deputy Public Relations Officer for Mzuzu Police Cecilia Mfune, has confirmed the development and said, the incident occurred last Friday in Chidero Village in the District.
According to Mfune, the husband returned home visibly distressed after witnessing his wife in the act.
When the wife came back later, the couple reportedly had an argument over the issue. The following morning, Ngondo was found dead near a tobacco barn.
Postmortem results from a nearby health facility indicated that the cause of death was suffocation due to hanging.
The deceased hailed from Chingama Village, under Traditional Authority Mabuka in Mulanje District.
