A TikTok creator known as “Love” has been invited by the Nigeria Police Force after her viral video about a loaf of bread sparked allegations of cyberstalking, fraud, and mischief.
The creator, who uses the handle @lovedooshimaa, posted a video claiming a loaf of Bon Bread remained fresh for about two months. The video went viral and triggered debate about food safety.
Social media influencer Lucky Udu shared a screenshot Sunday showing the creator’s message confirming the police invitation. “I have received an invitation to police HQ to come for an interview because I have been reported for cyberstalking, fraud, mischief and so on,” she wrote.
Bon Bread founder Maria Abdulkadir said the claims damaged the company’s reputation. She explained that attempts to engage the creator were unsuccessful, forcing the company to take legal action.
“We believe in freedom of speech,” Abdulkadir said. “However, we stand firmly behind the safety and quality of our product”.
As of press time, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official statement on the invitation.
