BREAKING: US Treasury Sanctions 14 Across Iran, Turkiye, UAE Over Alleged Weapons Supply Network

According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, The United States Department of the Treasury has announced a new round of sanctions targeting 14 individuals, entities, and aircraft across Iran, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates, citing their alleged involvement in facilitating weapons procurement and transport for Tehran.

According to a Treasury statement, the measures are intended to disrupt Iran’s efforts to rebuild its ballistic missile capabilities and expand the deployment of its Shahed-series unmanned aerial vehicles. U.S. officials claim these systems have been used to target American interests and critical infrastructure in the region.

The sanctions specifically focus on networks linked to Mahan Air, an airline Washington has accused of playing a role in transporting weapons and drone-related equipment. Additional entities were designated for their alleged involvement in supplying key components used in missile propellant production.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasized the administration’s commitment to tracking financial flows tied to Iran’s military activities. “The Iranian regime must be held accountable,” he said, adding that authorities would continue to “follow the money” and take further action against those supporting such operations.

Under the sanctions, any assets held by the designated individuals or entities within U.S. jurisdiction are frozen, and American individuals and companies are prohibited from engaging in transactions with them. The restrictions may also extend to foreign financial institutions found to be facilitating related activities.

The latest measures form part of a broader U.S. strategy aimed at curbing Iran’s military-industrial networks and limiting its access to international supply chains. Analysts note that such actions are likely to heighten tensions, as diplomatic efforts over Iran’s nuclear and defense programs remain ongoing.
