The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has made a notable political statement regarding the future of leadership in Lagos State, suggesting that the current Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, remains one of the most capable figures the state can rely on for continued governance and stability.
Speaking in what he described as a spiritually guided assessment of the political landscape, Primate Ayodele stated that he would not hesitate to publicly identify any individual he believes could defeat or outperform the current leadership structure; However, he maintained that, at present, Hamzat stands out as the most suitable option for Lagosians when considering competence, experience, and governance capacity.
He emphasized that his position is not driven by partisan interests but by what he claims to perceive as insight into the political direction of the state; According to him, leadership in Lagos requires continuity and individuals who understand the complexity of managing Nigeria’s most economically active state.
Primate Ayodele also reiterated that if there were a more formidable contender capable of surpassing the current leadership arrangement, he would openly acknowledge it.
