According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Friday, July 10, 2026, APC chieftain, Dr. Sule Iko-Sami, expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will announce his running mate before the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), dismissing concerns over the delay.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Iko-Sami responded to questions about why the President had yet to publicly unveil his vice-presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general election. He maintained that there was no reason for members of the ruling party to be worried, stressing that the process was still within the timeline allowed by the electoral guidelines.
Addressing speculation surrounding the issue, Iko-Sami said, “If the President does not reveal his vice president, they will complain. He will reveal it, but for now, we have a Vice President seated.” He added that the current administration remains focused on governance and implementing policies that directly affect Nigerians.
