According to a report by The Vanguard on Thursday, June 4, 2026, a fierce leadership battle within the opposition caucus threw the House of Representatives into a rowdy session on Thursday.

Lawmakers clashed openly over explosive allegations of signature forgery, blackmail, and an alleged $50,000 bribe meant to influence the choice of the next Minority Leader.

The chaos started during plenary when Hon. Philip Agbese from Benue State raised a point of order, accusing Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere of forging his signature on an online document.

Agbese claimed the document falsely showed he endorsed Ugochinyere for the minority leadership position. He strongly denied signing any nomination form or receiving any money, urging the House to protect his integrity.

In a swift response, Ugochinyere vehemently denied the forgery claim, branding it a malicious lie. He insisted that Agbese signed the endorsement form voluntarily in front of several colleagues.

Ugochinyere further claimed he already has the backing of 61 out of 81 opposition lawmakers, a declaration that triggered immediate shouting matches and protests across the floor.

As lawmakers from opposing factions joined the shouting match, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen intervened to restore order. He refused to allow the debate to drag on and immediately summoned all opposition lawmakers to a closed-door meeting to settle the dispute.

Another lawmaker moved that Ugochinyere’s self-declaration as the chosen leader be deleted from the House records, arguing that only the official caucus can present its leadership.

This explosive confrontation underscores the deep cracks within the House minority bloc as different factions fight for control of the Green Chamber’s opposition leadership ahead of the final official announcement.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
