According to report by Vanguard on Thursday, June 4, 2026, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that a recent Court of Appeal judgment overturned a High Court ruling which recognized the caretaker committee responsible for producing the party’s current National Working Committee (NWC).

Speaking with journalists in Abuja after inspecting ongoing projects on Thursday, Wike described the claims as deceptive and misleading.

He accused those promoting the interpretation of attempting to confuse party members and the public, referring to them as “419ers” operating in different forms.

He also expressed concern that a legal practitioner was allegedly involved in spreading what he described as an inaccurate account of the court’s decision.

According to Wike, the Court of Appeal clearly dismissed the appeal filed against the High Court judgment, meaning the appellants lost the case. He argued that it was impossible to portray the dismissal of an appeal as a victory.

The minister further noted that the appellate court referenced an earlier Supreme Court decision which had already nullified the convention at the center of the dispute, leaving no outstanding legal issue to be determined.

Wike challenged those insisting that the judgment favoured them to present their interpretation before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which was also involved in the case.

He maintained that the publication of candidates by INEC in the coming months would ultimately clarify the situation.

The minister also questioned claims that the faction had already adopted a presidential candidate despite the individual not publicly acknowledging the role or making any official declaration.

Turning to Rivers State politics, Wike rejected assertions by the Emeka Beke-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that it had successfully nullified decisions taken by the Tony Okocha-led leadership and removed party candidates.

He argued that the faction misunderstood the legal issues involved, stressing that party primaries are conducted by the APC’s National Working Committee at the national level.

He added that the underlying court case remains unresolved following the death of the judge who initially handled the matter.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
