According to a report published by Daily Trust on Saturday, April 18, 2026, Mohammad Danjuma Goje, who represents Gombe Central under the All Progressives Congress, has strongly dismissed circulating rumours linking him to the African Democratic Congress.
Goje categorically rejected the claims, describing them as false, misleading, and deliberately engineered to create confusion about his political allegiance. He reaffirmed that he remains a committed founding member of the APC, a party he helped establish and has consistently supported since its formation.
The clarification was contained in a statement issued by his Special Assistant, Ahmed Isa Kashere, who moved to correct what he described as widespread misinformation circulating online. The statement also addressed the appearance of a fake ADC membership card allegedly associated with the senator, which he said had no basis in reality and was being used to misrepresent his political identity.
Despite repeated speculation, Goje maintained that his loyalty to the APC remains firm and unchanged. He stressed that his political engagements at both state and national levels have consistently reflected his alignment with the ruling party, and that he has continued to support its principles, policies, and leadership structures without interruption.
He further alleged that the rumours were part of ongoing political manoeuvring aimed at discrediting him, describing the efforts as coordinated attempts by what he called “mischief makers” and “ingrates” seeking to undermine his reputation. According to him, such distractions have not altered his standing or participation within the APC, even amid internal party developments and political competition.
Reiterating his long-standing position, the former governor insisted that he has remained with the APC since its formation in 2013, adding that his involvement in the party has been continuous and unwavering through its early development and consolidation phases. He emphasised that at no point has he considered defecting to another political platform, regardless of pressure or speculation.
Goje summed up his position by stressing his commitment to the party he helped build, stating: “I cannot build a solid house and abandon it because of the antics and blackmail of ingrates.”
