Rep. Afam Ogene, the caucus leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the House of Representatives, has clarified reports linking Rabiu Kwankwaso to terrorism, stating that such claims were misinterpreted.
In an interview shared by VANGUARD on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Ogene explained that the report did not directly accuse Kwankwaso of sponsoring terrorism but rather addressed broader insecurity concerns affecting all Nigerians.
Ogene said Kwankwaso was responding to claims about attacks on Christians by highlighting that Muslims are also victims of violence. He stressed that terrorism in Nigeria does not target any single religion, as attacks impact both Christians and Muslims alike.
Ogene stated that the report was taken out of context, adding that Kwankwaso was emphasizing that insecurity affects everyone and expressing concern for victims within his religious group, not supporting terrorism.
