During an interview on Arise Television, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, National Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), firmly dismissed concerns raised by anchor Oseni Rufai about the possibility of internal crisis within the party.
The discussion came up after Rufai asked whether the PRP could face factional disputes or legal battles, especially as new members continue to join. Baba-Ahmed rejected the suggestion outright, insisting that the party remains stable, united, and free from internal conflict.
He expressed frustration with the framing of the question, describing it as unnecessary negativity. “With this your bad prayer, you’ll wash your mouth. Go and wash your mouth for making bad predictions,” he said, pushing back against what he considered an unfounded assumption.
The PRP chairman further emphasized that the party has remained calm and organized despite wider political tensions in the country. He contrasted this with the situation in other opposition parties, which he said are struggling with internal disputes and court cases.
According to him, the PRP continues to operate without internal disruption and remains grateful for its stability in a turbulent political environment. He added, “In this administration, every day we wake up and there’s nothing wrong outside our door, and we say, ‘Thank you, God,’ because seriously, the opposition is in trouble. But anyway, our party is open.”
