Political Tension Rises as Tinubu Declares: “I’m a Stubborn Politician”

According to a report by Al Jazeera English on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his determination to remain in office despite ongoing security challenges, describing himself as a resilient political figure who will not be forced out by instability or criticism.

The President made the remarks on Tuesday evening at the Presidential Villa in Abuja while hosting a delegation of stakeholders from Plateau State, led by Governor Caleb Muftwang. During the meeting, Tinubu addressed concerns over persistent violence in parts of the state, stating that efforts to undermine his administration through insecurity would not succeed.

He suggested that certain individuals or groups may be exploiting the security situation for political purposes, but emphasized his resolve to continue leading the country and to seek another term in office. According to him, the government remains focused on confronting the root causes of unrest while maintaining national stability.

The President also assured the delegation that authorities would take decisive action against those responsible for instigating or financing violence once credible intelligence is made available. He called on community leaders and stakeholders to assist security agencies by identifying individuals involved in acts that fuel conflict, stressing that the government would fully utilize its constitutional powers to address such threats.

Tinubu reiterated that security forces are prepared to act swiftly when provided with verified information, adding that breaking the cycle of violence in Plateau State remains a top priority for his administration.

As part of efforts to find a sustainable resolution, the President endorsed the formation of a peace initiative involving former governors of the state. He instructed members of the group to collaborate closely, review previous reports and policy recommendations on past conflicts, and develop a unified strategy for implementation. He further advised that existing structures should be reassessed, with adjustments made where necessary to improve effectiveness.

The meeting follows renewed concern over violence in Plateau State, including recent incidents that have drawn national attention. Tinubu has engaged with various stakeholders in recent weeks as part of broader consultations aimed at restoring calm and preventing further escalation.

Among those advocating for a coordinated approach is former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, who has called for inclusive dialogue involving past and present leaders, as well as traditional authorities. He emphasized that lasting peace would require collective responsibility and open discussions among key figures with experience in managing the state’s complex security dynamics.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
