According to a report by Metro on Thursday, June 4, 2026, Everton are prepared to demand a “prohibitive valuation” for Iliman Ndiaye amid growing interest from Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.

United, now under the permanent leadership of Michael Carrick, are expected to strengthen across several positions as the club continues its squad rebuild following another transitional season.

While midfield remains the top priority at Old Trafford, attention has also turned to attacking reinforcements, with Ndiaye emerging as a potential target.

Carrick has already moved to address midfield issues with a £35m agreement for Atalanta’s Ederson, marking the first signing of his permanent tenure.

However, further additions are planned, with United also tracking central midfield options such as Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, Sandro Tonali and Carlos Baleba as part of a broader recruitment strategy.

The club are also targeting reinforcements at left-back and striker, while the possibility of adding a left-sided forward has also been discussed internally, bringing Ndiaye into consideration.

Ndiaye, who joined Everton from Marseille in 2024 for around £15m, has become an important figure at Goodison Park. The 26-year-old has made 71 appearances over two seasons, scoring 15 Premier League goals and establishing himself as one of Everton’s most productive attacking players.

Despite ongoing squad rebuilding at Everton, manager David Moyes is determined to keep hold of the Senegal international. The Everton boss has repeatedly stressed his importance to the team and has already rejected multiple contract discussions involving the player over the past year.

Ndiaye remains under contract for three more years, although Everton are keen to secure him on improved long-term terms. However, a reported disagreement over the inclusion of an exit clause in any new deal has complicated negotiations, leaving his future uncertain.

According to reports, Everton have now set a valuation of around €80m (£69m) for the winger, a figure designed to reflect his importance to the squad and to deter potential bidders. The valuation is also influenced by recent Premier League market trends, including high-profile sales of attacking players in similar positions.

Moyes has previously made his stance clear, describing Ndiaye as “the last person I would consider selling,” underlining the club’s reluctance to part ways with one of their key attacking assets.

From Manchester United’s perspective, Carrick has described the upcoming transfer window as a crucial moment in the club’s rebuild, acknowledging that squad adjustments are needed after a season of mixed progress. He has also pointed to the expected departure of several players as part of a wider reshaping process.
