According to a report from Channels TV on Wednesday, April 15, A member of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) National Working Committee, Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo, has rejected media labels describing certain individuals as “factional” leaders of the party.
Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Okonkwo argued that simply declaring oneself a chairman does not make it legitimate. He drew a sharp analogy to drive home his point.
“If I stand here and declare myself the president of Nigeria, would you boldly come in and call me a factional president? No, you would not,” he said.
Okonkwo explained that what makes someone a genuine leader is strict adherence to constitutional provisions and due process, not mere proclamation. He warned journalists to be more careful with their choice of words, noting that the media risks legitimising baseless claims by using labels like “factional chairman.”
The ADC chieftain also defended the party’s recently concluded national convention, describing it as one of the most peaceful in Nigeria’s history. He insisted that the exercise was conducted despite intense blackmail, intimidation, and manipulation from certain quarters.
According to Okonkwo, those parading themselves as alternative leaders have no constitutional backing, and the ADC remains united under its rightful leadership following the convention. He urged party members to ignore distractions and focus on positioning the party for future elections.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
