BREAKING: ‎We’ve Over 19 Million Registered Members Of APC, 50% Are Between The Ages Of 18 And 35 — Yilwatda

In a recent interview with Daily Independent on Friday, April 17, 2026, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has described the party as one of the most youth-driven political platforms in Nigeria, pointing to its large and diverse membership base.

‎Yilwatda stated that the APC currently has over 19 million registered members across the country and explained that this figure reflects the party’s growing popularity and acceptance among Nigerians from different backgrounds.

‎According to him, a significant portion of the party’s membership is made up of young people, he noted that about half of the total members fall within the age bracket of 18 to 35, this, he said, shows that the party has strong support among the youth, who represent a major part of Nigeria’s population.

‎He further explained that the high number of young members positions the APC as a forward-looking party, he said the involvement of youths brings fresh ideas, energy, and innovation into the party’s structure and activities.

‎Yilwatda noted that the party’s membership spread cuts across various age groups, but the dominance of younger members stands out, he stressed that this demographic advantage gives the APC a strong foundation for future political growth and leadership development.

‎The chairman stated that the party’s ability to attract young Nigerians is a sign of trust and confidence in its vision and added that the APC will continue to create opportunities for youths to participate actively in politics and decision-making processes.

‎”Let me start by looking at the party registration that we have over 19 million registered members of APC. 50% are between the ages of 18 and 35. Which means that we are one of the most youthful parties in Nigeria,” he said.
