According to a report by Daily Post on Thursday, April 16, 2026, former governor of Rivers State and 2027 presidential aspirant Rotimi Amaechi has expressed reservations about the outcome of the presidential primary election conducted by the All Progressives Congress in 2022.
Amaechi, who was one of the leading contenders for the party’s ticket, shared his position during a television interview, where he reflected on the events surrounding the primary and the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the party’s candidate.
Speaking during a discussion on Channels Television, Amaechi explained that he did not fully accept the announcement of the primary election result at the time it was made.
He noted that his reaction was based on his personal assessment of the process and the outcome.
The former minister of transportation indicated that his disagreement was not hidden, as he had communicated his concerns directly during the period of the primary election.
